the age of sixty-five can continue to live full and
active lives.
In what ways can society benefit from the

Firstly, every country in the world is unique for
its culture and it is this culture that makes its
mark on the sands of world history. Most of
the countries are now losing grounds of their
culture. In this connection, the country that
has more number of grey-haired population
has no threat of losing their identity at the
global level. These old people are the beacon
lights of their culture – an amalgamation of
human values, ethics, rituals, traditions, food-
habits, lifestyle - and can pass it on to the next
generation.

For illustration, old people can be a great
source for others to know how to revere our
elders, how to keep our promises, how to
handle predicaments with aplomb…etc.

Secondly, there are many fields where the
services of these senior citizens are
indispensable. It is not practically possible to
handle certain tasks without being
experienced. No matter how cerebral and
energetic an individual is he or she cannot
resolve such issues without having experience
in that domain.

For instance, in a country like India there are
many sensitive issues. To be more specific, if
there is a friction between two religions which
may trigger the emotions of the people and it
may grow beyond control if no amicable and
amiable solution is sought after. In order to
handle such situations people of experience
are of pivotal importance.
