WORD STUDY

Each week you have 30 words to study. Starting on March 23, Week 1 includes all the words in the rows
marked 1. Week 2 starts on March 30 and includes all the words in rows marked with a 2. Week 3
begins on April 6 and includes all the words in rows marked with a 3. Week 4 starts on April 13. The
next week is April Break and the week after that is April 27 and we will, hopefully, be back at LCS.

On a piece of paper you will write 5 sentences each day for each week.
Monday - Choose 5 of the week’s words to use in a sentence that requires a comma and a period.
Tuesday – Draw pictures to represent each of 5 words. Be sure to write the word beside it.
Wednesday – Choose 5 different words to use in a sentence that shows someone speaking and uses
quotation marks and punctuation at the end. Be sure to identify who is speaking (My Papa whispered,
Jack yelled excitedly, etc).
Thursday - Create a comic strip. Add captions that use 5 of your words.
Friday - Choose 5 different words to use in a question that starts with a question word - who, when,
where, what, how – and ends with a question mark.
(Yes, there are 5 words left over at the end of the week).
