LIQUID PENETRANT
3.1 The combinations of liquid penetrant to be used
shall be selected in accordance with the following table:

3.2 The use of products of different manufacturers
requires the qualification of the examination procedure.
Intermixing of penetrant materials from different
families is not permitted.
3.3 Penetrant, cleaner and developer are available in
pressured spray cans or in open ones.
3.4 Control of contaminants
The liquid penetrant used shall be in compliance
with ASME V 2017 ART 6 APPENDIX 1 par. II-641 and
II-642
3.5 Certification with result of these tests for each
batch or lot of penetrant material used (analysis or
amount of residue, when required) shall be available.
The total halogen content shall not exceed 1% in
