Rational of Study

The rational of this research study is to conduct the in depth management analysis of

Warid Telecom Pakistan. To understand all the five managerial functions that how Warid go by

planning process at corporate and business level. To understand the working procedures of all

departments of Warid. Another purpose is to understand the recruitment process of Warid,

especially hoe leaders motivates their employees, what benefits and rewards they are given. We

also try to understand how the management keeps check and control on all the activities and

personnel. Then we are also required to study Warid position among its competitors, where it

stands in terms of market share, coverage, network and tariffs.

While doing the detailed analysis of Warid, we are also required to identify the major

problem the Warid is currently facing and also find the possible reasons for that and check their

validity. After doing the detailed research study, we are required to do SWOT analysis of Warid

and lastly present its feasibility report after five to ten years.

Organizational Levels of Management

There are five levels of management practiced in Warid. Following are the organizational

levels and grades used at Warid.

M5 M5 level includes all General

Value added services

Value Added Services have become an essential tool for generating revenues for mobile

companies today. Starting in the early years, from wallpaper and ring tones download, today

Warid provide a range of services to their customers. Some of the popular services include,

religion services, music services, which includes song dedication, voice and timed messages,

sports and cricket services, food and recipe services, WAP/GPRS/EDGE, themes, wallpapers,

games and ring tones downloads, credit share, MMS, voice mail, email, missed call alert,

conference call, mobile TV, web2sms and many more.

Value added services have been designed by companies, so that there are services for

every segment of their users and that these services completely satisfy them, as and when

needed. Warid Telecom, the fastest growing mobile operator in Pakistan, recently launched the

"Talky" Voice SMS service based upon the pioneering "Voice SMS" technology from Kirusa, a

leading mobile value-added services provider based in New Jersey, USA.

Exploration of new markets segments

Warid used MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) to target niche market segment

by providing complete network services with the brand of the customer. In this way MVNO can

benefit from the network of the Warid while promoting their name with a fraction of cost &

investment.

Warid also trying to expand its network to cover a much larger foot print and acquire

subscribers from untapped areas.

 Re-launch of Paktel under China mobile.

 Competitors with strong shareholders support – financial resources and telecom

expertise.

Suggestions and Recommendations

.Warid Telecom has potential to capture good market and to give tough time to the

competitors. It has the competitive advantage over its competitors in many packages. It plans to

invest further in the near future, but for this at least following steps should be taken in order to

make more competitive in the near future as it also have some weaknesses.

 Warid telecom is offering cheap rates for its prepaid and postpaid customers as compared

to its competitors but the main area they are lacking is the way to communicate it to

customers.

 The marketing policy of Warid Telecom is very attractive. But the basic need is that to

advertise more on Television. Nowadays everyone watches T.V and it is the best source

of marketing. Highlight Warid Telecom’s achievements on Broachers.

 Warid Telecom should go for the comprehensive marketing plan. The plan should

highlight the target market upon which it has to focus.

 For marketing purpose, number of hoardings, billboards, ads should be increased.

 There should be consistency of brand ambassadors, jingles, colors and graphics in their

print and electronic media ads to create strong brand recognition

 Network coverage should be expanded

 Warid Telecom should try to arrange more recreational programs foremployees because

after hard work every human being wants to relax. As a result of recreational activities,

excellent performance comes from employee side.

 There should be more decentralization and employees should be encouraged for their

ideas.

 Compensation and benefits plans should be revised, as it can be used as a very important

tool to create motivation in employees.

 As there are too much divisions in Warid, so some divisions should be merged like

Government and Regulatory authority should work together with legal affairs Division.

 Website of Warid should be properly designed, so that people should get maximum

information from there.

 Warid should launch its products and services in new cities, in order to increase its

number of subscribers and ultimately it leads to increase in its market share.

 In order to reduce the employee turnover, management at Warid should provide the

remedies for these problems which cause the employee to leave the organization.

 Management should take some serious steps to ensure that employee’s work-life balance

is not disturbed and after doing the daily work at job, employees are left with sufficient

time for their personal life. If management takes these considerations into account, high

rate of employee turnover can be decreased to a very negligible level.
