VIPASSANA MEDITACIJA

Vipassana, što znači videti stvari onakve kakve one stvarno jesu, je svetska najstarija,
najjednostavnija, ali ipak najefektivnija tehnika meditacije. Istinski naučna I
nesektaška, Vipassana je nazvana “univerzalnim lekom za univerzalne bolesti.”

Dobro, nije potrebno da vam kažemo koliko je teško uspostaviti kontrolu ili mir uma.
Um se poredi sa poludelim majmunom. “Bio jednom jedan majmun, nemiran po
svojoj sopstvenoj prirodi, kao i svi drugi majmuni. Kao da to nije bilo dovoljno, neko je
majmuna pošteno napio vinom, tako da je on postao još nemirniji. Onda ga je
škorpion ujeo. Kada čoveka ujede škorpion, on skače skoro ceo dan, tako da je
jadnom majmunu ovo stanje bilo gore nego ikad. Da bi upotpunio majmunovu
patnju demon je ušao u njega. Koji jezik može da opiše nekontrolisani nemir tog
majmuna? Ljudski um je poput tog majmuna.” (Swami Vivekananda, Raja-Yoga)
Meditacija, kada je rađena ispravno, ne samo da smiruje um već ga isto tako i
izošrava. Javlja se ogromna otvorenost I jasnoća, jer prazan um ništa ne blokira, ništa
ne ometa, niti deformiše.

Obično je um pun smeća. On je poređen sa prljavim, prašnjavim ogledalom.


Meditacija, kroz samo-posmatranje, postepeno odstranjuje mentalne zaprljanosti,
rezultujući u balansiranom umu punom ljubavi i saosećanja. U konačnoj analizi,
meditacija je stanje čiste svesnosti.

Postoji način na koji stvari stvarno jesu, pored toga kako one izgledaju i šta mi
mislimo o njima: stvarnost sopstva, života i drugog. Kada je, u meditaciji, ova
stvarnost doživljena direktno, mudrost dolazi spontano.

Meditacija je konačni lek. Ona uklanja patnju i donosi sreću potpunog oslobođenja.

Na kraju, vi imate hiljadu i jedan problem, i pokušavate da ih rešite. Ali ni jedan


problem nije nikada bio rešen, zato što, na prvom mestu, vi nemate hiljadu i jedan
problem, vi imate samo jedan problem. Pronađite šta je to i kako da ga sasečete u
samom korenu.

Vipassana Meditation
Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is the world’s most ancient,
simplest yet most effective technique of meditation. Truly scientific and
nonsectarian, it’s been called “the universal remedy for universal ills.”
Well, you don’t need us to tell you how hard it is to control or pacify the mind. It has
been compared to the maddened monkey. “There was a monkey, restless by his
own nature, as all monkeys are. As if that were not enough someone made him
drink freely of wine, so that he became still more restless. Then a scorpion stung him.
When a man is stung by a scorpion, he jumps about for a whole day; so the poor
monkey found his condition worse than ever. To complete his misery a demon
entered into him. What language can describe the uncontrollable restlessness of
that monkey? The human mind is like that monkey.” (Swami Vivekananda, Raja-
Yoga) Meditation, when done correctly, not only calms down the mind, but
sharpens it as well. There is tremendous openness and clarity, because an empty
mind obstructs nothing, overcrowds nothing, distorts nothing.

Ordinarily, the mind is full of rubbish. It has been compared to a dirty, dusty mirror.
Meditation, through self-observation, gradually eradicates mental defilements,
resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion. In the final analysis,
meditation is a state of pure consciousness.

There is some way that things actually are, apart from how they seem and what is
thought about them: the actuality of self, life and another. When, in meditation, this
actuality is experienced directly, wisdom arises spontaneously.

Meditation is the ultimate medicine. It ends suffering and brings the highest
happiness of full liberation.

In conclusion, you have a thousand and one problems, and you try to solve them.
But not even a single problem is ever solved, because in the first place you don’t
have a thousand and one problems, you have only one. Find out what it is and how
to cut the very root of it.
