CALIBRATIONS
The calibration of s.f.d. is composed by the cassette chariot calibration, and shutter
calibrtation. To do this calibrations you need to disconnect the collimator cable from J4 of
K161008 PCB, open completely the collimator manualy to have the maximun X Ray
window on the film without any interferance between sfd shutter and collimator shutter.
The second parameter is the chariot offset. This parameter permit to center the film in the
xray field, and isn’t equal for all s.f.d. because it depends from how the zer switch is
mounted.
To do this calibration you have to put a reference of x ray field center in the s.f.d. ,insert a
cassete where you put a reference of the center of the film.
Now....
- enter setup
- chose CHARIOT/SHUTTER
- chose CHARIOT OFFSET
Now the cassette will move toward the x ray position. You must measure the difference
between the two reference in mm, and insert this value. If when the cassette is in this
position the reference on the cassette is before the reference of the xray field center the
sign will be +, in the case the reference on the cassette go beyond of the reference of the
xray field center the sign will be –
now you can repeate this operation and check if the two reference are in the same
position.
( normaly the offset value is about +12/+13mm)
Shutter calibration
Same as the cassette calibration there is a proportional coefficent to adjust . This value is
the same for all the s.f.d.
To set this number.
- enter setup
- chose CHARIOT/SHUTTER
- chose SHUTTER
- set the number 128
Now you have to adjust the maximum opening value of the shutter.
Shutter offset 1
Now you have to adjust the normal division offset value of the shutters.
This value will work in all the normal division, and adjust the white line between each
division.
- chose CHARIOT/SHUTTER
- chose SHUTTER
- chose SHUTTER OFFSET1
now the shutters will move to the opening value of 70mm, and you have to measure the
opening value if them.If this value is higher than 70 you must insert the value with negative
sign, in case this value is lower you must insert the value with positive sign.
Shutter offset 2
Now you have to adjust the 18X24 by 4 cross division offset of the shutters.
This value will work just for this type of film with this kind of division, and adjust the white
line between each division.
- chose CHARIOT/SHUTTER
- chose SHUTTER
- chose SHUTTER OFFSET2
now the shutters will move to the opening value of 85mm, and you have to measure the
opening value if them.If this value is higher than 85 you must insert the value with positive
sign, in case this value is lower you must insert the value with negative sign.
Shutter offset 3
Now you have to adjust the 30X24 by 6 cross division offset of the shutters.
This value will work just for this type of film with this kind of division, and adjust the white
line between each division.
- chose CHARIOT/SHUTTER
- chose SHUTTER
- chose SHUTTER OFFSET3
now the shutters will move to the opening value of 95mm, and you have to measure the
opening value if them.If this value is higher than 95 you must insert the value with positive
sign, in case this value is lower you must insert the value with negative sign.
Shutter offset 4
Now you have to adjust the 30X24 by 4 cross division offset of the shutters.
This value will work just for this type of film with this kind of division, and adjust the white
line between each division.
- chose CHARIOT/SHUTTER
- chose SHUTTER
- chose SHUTTER OFFSET4
now the shutters will move to the opening value of 145mm, and you have to measure the
opening value if them.If this value is higher than 145 you must insert the value with
positive sign, in case this value is lower you must insert the value with negative sign.
Switch on the equipement and try it with xray, to do this remember to ser the collimator in
manual mode:
- enter set up
- choose COLLIMATOR
- choose MANUAL CONTROL
Now the machine can work without the collimator, so you can see if the cassette and
shutters work good because the collimator is completely open sa you set manualy before.
If s.f.d. make a good xray result you can adjust the collimator.
Example of x ray:
Now move the collimator in all the direction until you see the square of collimator in center
of the monitor screen( cou can find the meccanical istruction on the manual of clinomat )
you must obtain this result.
Now you are shure that collimator is in the good position and you can connect the
collimator plug and do the elettronic calibration of the collimator.
- enter setup
- choose COLLIMATOR
- choose AUTOMATIC CONTROL
- Move the s.f.d. at the minimum focal distance and store the potentiometer value
- Move the s.f.d. at the maximum focal distance and store the potentiometer value
- Now the collimator colose automaticaly his shutters completely, store the values of
potentiometer, open the shutters completely and store the potentiometer values, to
know the maximum and minimum opening of the coliimator.
- Now you have to move the s.f.d. to the maximum position, open or close the collimator
until the light in the film is 300mm X 300mm.Store the pot. value.
- Now you have to move the s.f.d. to the minimum position, open or close the collimator
until the light in the film is 300mm X 300mm.Store the pot. value.
- enter setup
- choose COLLIMATOR
- choose OFFSET
- set the value ( suggest value 10mm). This offset value is add to all the film
format(example: when the collimator have to set a 18x24 film it set his opening to
190mm x 250mm).
If this offset is set to 0 and the electronic calibration is done well the collimator
illuminate the film with an x ray window equal to the s.f.d. shutters opening dimension.
In some case can be possible that collimator window is narrow than the s.f.d.shutter
opening or loose the allignement because in different tilting position there are diffrent
meccanical flexion. So we suggest to set the offset value to 10mm to be shure that
collimetor window is everytime wide than the shutters opening.
