When choosing an activity to help you stay fit it is important to look for one that improves your
muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and assists in building your cardiorespiratory
fitness.
With the fitness knowledge that you have already acquired, create a fitness activity that allows
the entire class to be active for 25 minutes.
In groups of 5 people, students will design and lead an activity that keeps the class moving for
25 minutes. Students must come up with an idea of an activity that has not yet been done in
class. When choosing your activity remember that creativity is encouraged, however it is
important that all activities are safe. Groups will have 5 minutes to present their activity and
explain the rules/instructions. All members of the group must have a speaking role in the
presentation of the activity.
It is important to consider which component of fitness that your activity is targeting. For
example: muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and/or cardiorespiratory fitness.
Students are responsible for seeing if the equipment that they desire for their activity is
available for use. They are responsible for getting all equipment prior to presenting and putting
it away after their presentation is done. You may choose to incorporate music into your lesson
so long as it is appropriate and does not distract anyone from your presentation and activity.
Students will be marked both on their own presentation and activity as well as their level of
participation and preparedness for the activities of others.
As a group, students will submit their activity description on Thursday, March 28 th, 2019.
Group presentations will start on Thursday, March 28th, 2019.
