Overview with student’s lesson activities and expectations:
- Review our understanding of sound travel
- Watch a video on the ear
5 minutes - Build model ear with clay and complete a diagram with
students
- Practice good listening skills
- Participate in class discussion
- Work respectfully with materials provided.

Ask students:
- What organ is responsible for our hearing?
- How does our hearing move through our ears?

- What parts of the ear were new?

- How did the video describe the movement of sound in our
ears?

ear and labelling an associated diagram.

20 minutes Students will:

- Use the diagram to create a model ear
- With a partner label the parts of the ear
- Discuss the path of movement of vibrations

The class will then:

30 minutes - Review the students labels of their ear
- Fill in the associated lapbook piece on the parts of the ear
