1.PITCH
Pitch is feature in music describing

How high or low a sound is


ASSIGNMENT 1: Listen to the videos you received for the class 1 and pay close attention to instruments
we learned , how can you tell which is high pitched and which is low pitched?Please make a list to share
in online classroom on the writing board.
2.TEMPO

SLOW

FAST

How fast or slow the music is


A piece can be played at a moderate speed and can even change its tempo part way through.
3.DYNAMICS
What does it mean?

The loudness or the quietness of the


music. In another words is called
VOLUME.
Music often changes dynamics or volume gradually, and goes from loud to soft, or from soft to loud in
one piece of music.

ASSIGNMENT 2:

Watch the videos and write a list of instruments that make loud and quiet volume. Please share this list
in class by writing it on the screen when you enter the classroom .I will check all your answers when the
class is over .

4.DURATION
What does it mean?
The length of a sound in Music. LONG or SHORT
ASSIGNMENT 3:Which instrument do you remember had long duration adn which has short duration
when you were listening. Compile a list for instruments whit short and long duration of sound its
making.Please type the list on the screen when you enter the classroom.

5.TEXTURE

If all the instruments are playing at once then it means that the TEXTURE is THICK .

If only one instrument is playing then the TEXTURE is THIN.

You can build texture up from thin to thick and you can also reduce it from thick to thin when you are
playing.

• THICK lots of sound/layers/fillings

• THIN single sound/layer/filling

6.TIMBRE
Every instrument has it’s own sound or TIMBRE
So … A metal instrument sounds different than a wooden one and hitting a drum sounds different than
playing a recorder

To decide the timbre we must look :

1. What is the instrument made from?

2. How does this sound?

3. Which word describes that sound?

TIMBRE can be– Wood / Metal / Skin


ASSIGNMENT 4:

Please watch videos and make a list of instruments dividing them in three categhories by
wood/metal/skin .
