10, 2017January 11, 2017January 12, 2017January 13, 2017I. OBJECTIVES A. Content
StandardsThe learners demonstrate an understanding of NEWTONs LAW OF MOTIONB.
Performance StandardsSolve, using experimental and theoretical approaches, multiconcept,
rich- context problems involving measurement, vectors, motions in 1D, 2D, and 3D, Newtons
Laws, work, energy, center of mass, momentum, impulse, and collisionsC. Learning
Competencies / ObjectivesLearners will be able to Explain Newtons first law of motion Describe
inertia and its relationship to mass Appraise the importance of understanding inertia in saving
lives of the driversLearners will be able to Describe the acceleration of an object in terms of
mass and not the external force acting on it Apply Newtons second law of motion to practical
situation Appraise the importance of a healthy mass for a healthy living. Solve problems that
involved in the second law of motion.VACANTLearners will be able to Explain Newtons third law
of motion Give examples of situation where newtons third law of motion can be observed Solve
problems that involved in third law of motionLearners will be able to Apply understanding about
the three laws of motion Explain newtons law in mathematical operation Relate the importance
of knowing mathematical operation in expressing laws of motion.[II. CONTENTNEWTONS

ProceduresA. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lessonConcept map of students
will be presented today as part of review.Student will read their summary from the assignment
given by the teacher last discussion.Students will answer their assignment on the
board.Students will answer their assignment orally. This will serve as a review for the last week
topic.B. Establishing a purpose for the lessonTeacher will show picture of Isaac Newton,
Aristotle and Galileo to students and he will introduce contributions of those people to the
discovery of motion.Picture Analysis:Teacher will show 2 pictures showing picture A. a small
force on object causes a small accelerationPicture B. a bigger force causes a bigger
acceleration.Teacher will show a video about Newtons Third law of Motion.Students are
expected to compare and contrast newton first and second law to third law of motion.Teacher
will show picture where newtons law of motion can be observe. Then students will explain why
picture are said to be in Newtons law of motion.C. Presenting examples/instances of the new
lessonStudents will be given handout for them to understand better the LAW of Inertia. The first
law of motion.Teacher will post the second law of motion states that: The acceleration of an
object is directly proportional to the net force acting on the object and inversely proportional to
the mass of the object.Teacher will give situational examples where third law of motion can be
best observed.Teacher will show a problem related to the picture. Problems with the use of
mathematical expression.D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1Students will
be grouped into 5 groups. They will discuss the contribution of Aristotle and Galileo to the first
law of motion.Students are expected to define Inertia and its history over a period of
time.Teacher will discuss the quantities/variables involved in solving acceleration force and
mass in second law of motion.Teacher will discuss the topic by explaining how those sets of
examples are said to be in the third Law of motion.Teacher will discuss how to solve problems
that are related to Newtons law of Motion.E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills
#2Teacher will introduce situation where the first law of motion can be observed in real life
situation.A 35-kg papaya is pushed across a table. If the acceleration of the papaya is 2.2 m/s^2
to the left, what is the net external force exerted on the papaya?Students will be group into 3
and they will think of a situation where third law of motion can be observed. They will perform it
afterwards.Teacher will group the students to answer those sets of problems given by the
teacher.Students will be given hand outs with guided questions.F. Developing MasteryStudents
are expected to memorize the first law of motion and recite it on the class. They are also
expected to explain the first law of motion.A 0.05-kg tennis ball approaches a racket at 25m/s. if
it is contact with the racket strings for 0.005 seconds, then rebounds at 25m/s , what is the
average contact force between ball and racket?Presentation of Output.Teacher then will ask the
students why those situations are related to Newtons Third Law of Motion.Students will present
their assigned topic.Teacher will ask students questions for clarification.1. Finding practical
applications of concepts and skills in daily livingStudents will be able to appraise the importance
of using seat belt in driving based from the explanation made by Newton in his first law.See
page 73Safety seats for childrenTeacher will show picture of headrests, seatbelts, automatic
inflating bags, structural design of racecar and operation of rocket engine and he will explain
why those mentioned things are related to Laws of Motion.Teacher will give other situations that
Newtons Law of Motion can Be used. 2. Making generalization and abstractions about the
lessonStudents will make a concept map summarizing the current discussion.A constant net
force of 200 N is exerted to accelerate a car from rest to a velocity of 40m/s in 10 s. what is the
mass of the cart? There will be a recitation where the teacher will give students a list of situation
and the students are expected to tell whether those situations are from 1st 2nd or 3rd laws of
motion.Students are expected to explain why for further understanding. There will be other set of
problems to answer by the students.3. Evaluating learningSee page 92.Identification and
multiple choices.See page 92.Problem solvingSee PowerPoint Day1_02Picture AnalysisSee
page. 88Multiple choices.4. Additional activities for application for remediationStudents will be
give handout about the biography of Isaac Newton and his story in the discovery of the three
laws of motion. Students will summarize the information in handout using concept map.On a
