Functional Skills Entry Level 3 Writing

The standards for Entry Level 3 Writing include planning and drafting skills.
In order for these be assessed, IQ’s Entry Level 3 Writing assessments are designed
in 3 stages so that each of the Plan, Draft and Write skills can be assessed
separately.
To give your learners the best chance of passing the Entry Level 3 Writing
assessments, learners need to understand the following:
Each assessment paper will contain 2 tasks.
1. Within each task, there are three (3) questions:
a. Question 1 asks candidates to produce a plan
b. There is 1 mark for this plan
c. Question 2 asks candidates to produce a draft
d. There is 1 mark for the draft
e. Question 3 asks candidates to produce their final copy
f. There are 11 marks in total for the final copy
2. The final copy counts for 11 of the 13 marks and should show development
from the plan and the draft.
Candidates who simply copy and paste one answer into all three response spaces
will only gain the final copy marks.
