GEOTHERMAL ENERGY
Geothermal energy is heat energy that exists and is formed in the earth's crust. The temperature
under the earth's crust increases with increasing altitude. The temperature in the center of the
earth is estimated to reach 5400 ° C.

Geothermal energy comes from tectonic activity on earth that has occurred since the planet was
made. This heat also comes from the sun's heat absorbed by the surface of the earth.
This energy has been used to heat space from the air of Roman civilization, but is now more
popular for producing electrical energy. Around 10 GW geothermal power plants were installed
worldwide in 2007, and accounted for around 0.3% of the world's total electricity.

Geothermal energy is quite economical and environmentally friendly, but it is limited only to the
tectonic border.
