CIRCLE OF FIRE AND ITS IMPORTANCE IN PERU

I DESCRIPTION

The circle of fire is an area of the world characterized by concentrating the

mayor subduction zone in the world, so that it is causing intense seismic and
volcanic activity.

The Ring of Fire is a direct result of plates tectonic, at the same time the
eastern section is the result of the subduction of the Nazca Plate and the Cocos
plate beneath the South American plate. Cocos Plate is sinking beneath the
Caribbean Plate in Central America.

A portion of the Pacific Plate along with the small Juan of Fuca plate sinks
below the North American plate. The circle of fire is containing the arc of
Aleutian islands , arcs of the península of Kamchatka and smaller tectonic
plates.

The most of volcanoes in the world are in this circle of fire therefore in this zone
the volcanic activity will be high.

This is located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, includes countries such as
Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Central America (Panama, Costa Rica,
Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala) Mexico, the United States,
Canada, then fold up to the Aleutian Islands and down the coasts and islands of
Russia, China, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia and at last New
Zealand.

The ring of fire has 40,000 km extention that which it has shape of a
horseshoe.

The subduction between an oceanic crust and continental crust is causing the
mineralization of course the metals with economic interes so we have several
mineral deposits. an example is the epithermal deposit, porfiric deposit among
other.

The water of the crust ocean is very important for forming the hydrotermal
fluids so as to form ore .
The ring of fire has trenches as well as rocks andesitic (in these cases because
there are volcanic activity) .We don’t forget that 90% of the world 's largest
earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire.

Peru is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire , therefore , is liable to be affected by

the occurrence of earthquakes likewise they are more common and larger
when they occur on the western edge of South America.

The earthquakes are caused by the interaction of the plates, large pieces of the
mosaic that forms the crust, all in constant movement. Globally, only the Nazca
plate reaches travel speeds of 8-10 cm / year, so from time to time the seismic
movements occur in the all Peru. While the pressure difference of east and
west pacific are going to originate and modified by the thermal variations that’s
why the convection currents are going to originate the zones of
decompression. it influences in the phenomenon of the child

Peru has geothermal resources very important with great potential energic in
question these resourses can generate electric energy as far as I am
concerned these haven’t been used in Peru.

CONCLUSIONS

1. The mineral deposits was forming for different chemical and physical
properties not in the least they wouldn’t form without the existence of
the ring of fire.
2. The seismic movements are normal events in the area in which we are.
3. We have resource geothermal in Peru with great potential that we don’t
use.

SUGGESTIONS

1. I’d like to point out that our country has geothermal and mineral
resources they should be exploited.
2. Personally I think that we must prepare a plan of mitigate for
decreasing the effects of seismic movement.
3. We can use geothermical energy as a matter of fact its transformation
in electric energy also in the Industrial process
