Nowadays, more and more modern markets are being replaced by machine-made

products in many countries all over the world. There is no doubt that they provide
many benefits for different fields especially economic. However, handmade
products also play a big role in our society, they have some particular advantages
over other products.

First of all, products made by hand are environmentally friendly. We know that
these products are often made from green materials and used natural energy to
produce. As a result, they will reduce the emission from the factories optimally.
During the process of manufacturing and using, handmade products also do not
risk the health of consumers and our surrounding habitat. For example, bamboo
straws and coconut bowls. These products are totally made from nature by a group
of well-known artisans in Vietnam. They created these green items to protect the
environment and also gained success in other different markets.

Secondly, handcrafted products are often durable. It means that when we use
something made by magical hands of craftsmen, that item is more sustainable than
others. For instance, I bought two flower vases on my summer holiday last year.
One vase is from a traditional pottery village and the other is from a factory near
there. The truth is their appearances quite look alike but the qualities are not.
Unfortunately, after one year, the factory-made vase was broken first. Thus, I
believe that handmade products can last longer.

Furthermore, another benefit of handmade pieces is that they are unique. In other
words, these products were made by human with true love, which makes them
different, not just like machine-made products are often identical and have no
emotion. As an example, my friend’s hobby is collecting antiques. Instead of
collecting mass-produced items, she often seeks handmade artifacts because they
are not generic, they have their own true beauty. Sometimes handmade pieces have
some flaws however that imperfection makes themselves more special.

In conclusion, it is right that machine-made products supply many advantages for

our community. Nevertheless, in my opinion, handmade products are more
beneficial because of their environmental protection, durability and uniqueness.
Therefore, we should value these pieces and try to keep them survive like we are
preserving the significant aspect of our long-term cultural tradition.
