1. We have until June 30, 2019 to apply for new license plates.
2. Owner’s failure to report sale of motorcycle to the LTO within 5 days:
a. Imprisonment: 1 month to 6 years, and/or
b. Fine: 20k to 50k
3. Buyer’s failure to register motorcycle within 5 days from purchase:
a. Imprisonment: 1 month to 6 years, and/or
b. Fine: 20k to 50k
4. No plate / No “doble plaka” Prision correccional
a. Seizure of motorcycle
b. Imprisonment: 6 months to 6 years, and/or
c. Fine: 50k to 100k
5. Use of motorcycle in commission of the crime, or as a get-away vehicle (on top of the crime
itself)
a. Grave crimes (ex. Rape, robbery)
i. Imprisonment: 12 years and 1 day to habangbuhay
b. Less grave crimes (ex. Forcible abduction) or light felony (ex. kubrador)
i. Imprisonment: 6 to 12 years
c. Death or serious physical injuries
i. Imprisonment: habangbuhay
6. Lost/damaged/stolen plate was used in a crime, and the owner did not immediately report to
the LTO/PNP
a. Fine: 20k to 50k
7. Lost/stolen plate was used in a crime, and the owner did not report the loss to the LTO/PNP
within 3 days
a. Owner’s Imprisonment: 1 month to 6 years
8. Use of stolen plate
a. Imprisonment: 6 years and 1 day to 12 years, and/or
b. Fine: 50k to 100k
9. Faking/tampering plates
a. Imprisonment: 6 years and 1 day to 12 years
b. Fine: 50k to 100k
10. Buying/selling fake/tampered plates
a. Imprisonment: 6 years and 1 day to 12 years
i. NOTE: If buyer/seller did not know of the fakery/tampering, imprisonment is
only for 1 month to 6 months

11. Using fake/tampered plates
a. Imprisonment: 6 years and 1 day to 12 years, and/or
b. Fine: 50k to 100k
12. Covering/concealing plates
