REVISED COURSE OUTLINE FOR BUSINESS COMMUNICATION

In the wake of the novel COVID-19, the course will now be fully administered online. The
remodeled course will now be divided into 4 sections

1. Preexisting 6-week-long online course on Business Communication via edX

2. Online classes via Zoom

3. Term Report

4. Online assessments via LMS, Classmarker.com and Mumtahin Application

1. Online Course: All students shall attend the online course via the free edX platform. The
students shall be assessed regularly to ensure participation in the course. The course
covers the following essential Business Communication topics:

Week 1: The Process of Communication


 
Week 2: Professional Writing - The Basics
 
Week 3: Professional Writing - Applications
 
Week 4: Glossophobia and Oral Communication
 
Week 5: Making Effective Business Presentations
 
Week 6: Communication in Interpersonal Settings

2. Online Classes: Online classes shall be conducted on regular class timings via the Zoom
Application. This will not be regular to compensate for the online course the students will
be taking; the course is a 6 week, 3 hours per week commitment.

3. Term Report: Term Report will now be a major part of the course. Further briefing shall
be given on this to the students via a zoom session. The key amendment here is a shift
from visiting companies to conducting over the call interviews.
4. Assessments: Quizzes and term exams shall take place more frequently via online
platforms mentioned above. The students shall be invigilated by the TA through the lens
of Zoom. Oral quizzes shall also be administered.

REVISED GRADING SCHEME:


TERM REPORT – 30%
QUIZZES – 10%
LMS ASSIGNMENTS - 35%
TERM EXAM – 25%
