1. Good evening and welcome to our weekly meeting of powerlessness and hope. My name is _______
and I am powerless. Please join me in a moment of silence to reflect on the reason we are here,
followed by the Serenity Prayer. (ALL) God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot
change,The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.

3. In defining sobriety, we can only speak for ourselves. Spiritual sobriety means pursuing God without
distraction or enchantment of any outside thing that is progressively obsessive or destructive. We also
strive toward the positive sobriety of acting out true union of persons and God.
4. We have a business meeting the 1st Monday of the month after the meeting.
5. "Let's take a minute to introduce ourselves by first name. We optionally identify ourselves as
“powerless” because personal recovery depends on unity and we are ever reminded to place principles
before personalities. My name is______________________________________, I'm powerless.
6. METING GUIDELINES: We avoid topics that can lead to dissension or distraction. No cross-talk
please. The emphasis is on honesty, recovery, and healing with transparency of where we are really at
today. Everyone, including the newcomer is encouraged to share. The Hot Seat Chairperson is
encouraged to read or share a topic of focus and has a 15 minute time restraint. __________* has
agreed to chair our meeting this evening.
