ACCOUNTANTS ALDERSGATE COLLEGE CHAPTER FEDERATION YEAR 2019-2020
STUDENT STUDY GROUP PROGRAM (SSGP) NARRATIVE REPORT
Tutors: BALUCAS, Angelica C.
CULANAG, Melody L. Tutee: ANDRES, Edlyne Denice M. Month: February Last February, we met our tutee. We asked her about what she want to know about Accounting or about what she don't understand that she want us to teach her. She told us to discuss about Cost-volume-profit Analysis in Cost Accounting because they will be having their quiz the next day. We introduce first what is Cost-volume-profit Analysis and why we need to solve it. We also gave her sample problems that will help her understand more the topic. We told her that in order to solve those problems, she need to remember the formulas we taught her and practice on how to apply it to the problem. About her queries and concerns with the topic and the problems that we gave her, we discussed it all immediately during our discussion. And for her additional concerns, we told her to just ask us in our group chat. For the succeeding weeks, we discussed about Notes Receivables specifically on how to compute Present Value Factors depending on the type of problems she might encounter, whether it’s lump sum or installment. We taught her the formulas and showed her how to compute on both scientific and basic calculators. We were not able to take pictures when we met our tutee. We focused on teaching her instead and we agreed that before passing of reports, we will take pictures of us for documentation purposes but unfortunately, classes were interrupted because of the virus. Overall, through this study group, we were able to refresh our minds about the topics that we discussed to our tutee and it’s very helpful to us. We’re happy that we were able to share our knowledge to others.
