Title: Karbala genocide
In this tragic narrative story “After the Prophet” Lesley Hazleton illustrates the rivalry between sunni and
shia.the millions of pilgrims were assassinated on march 4 ,2004 on tenth of Muharram the same day
Prophet’s grandson Hussein was martyred in 680.It was a huge distruction their was blood,battered bodies
everywhere. There were nine explosions many bombs and fire .Whole muslim world was in shock due to
this massacre.The incident happened in 7th century in karbala is engraved in hearts of both shia and sunni
and that is root cause of their split.The karbala story is literally without an end and this massacre proved
it.
