To Whom It May Concern:

I had the honor of mentoring Kiersten Lambert through her fourth grade student teaching
experience at Pearson Elementary in South Lyon, Michigan. Kiersten worked with me from
September, 2019 until December, 2019 and taught math, science and Social Studies. Kiersten
demonstrated numerous qualities that proved she would stand out as a competent, reliable and
dedicated teacher.

Kiersten made immediate connections with the students. She took time to get to know them as a
person. She showed interest in their lives and made them feel welcome each morning by greeting
them with a “Hello” and a smile! I was very impressed at how quickly Kiersten was able to
recognize which were struggling students either academically or socially.

At the peak of her student teaching, Kiersten had all classroom responsibilities including, but not
limited to, planning and implementing all daily lessons, morning routines, end-of-the-day routines,
checking papers, parent communication, preparing weekly homework, working with individual and
small groups and classroom management. She handled all responsibilities successfully. She limited
transition time in order to maximize learning opportunities. She was always prepared for her daily
lessons. She provided prompt and accurate feedback to students and parents.

Kiersten encouraged higher-level thinking among students through her thoughtful questioning.
Moreover, Kiersten offered constant support and one-on-one instruction to students who needed
extra help. She checked in with these students regularly and found new ways to demonstrate
concepts in order to help these students achieve. She exhibited a lot of patience when working with
the students.

Kiersten made an effort to be a part of the school community. She helped me prepare the classroom
before school started. She regularly attended staff meetings and built relationships with other staff
members both personally and professionally. The highest compliment I can give is that I truly
believe I learned just as much from Kiersten during her student teaching as she learned from me.

I would highly recommend Kiersten for any teaching position in your school. If you would like to
speak with me further, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
