Crop Day 97 March 19, 2019 7-3 B Shift Logs

7:00am- Took over shift. Milling in progress. Isolated the no.2 Juice scale for cleaning and servicing. Day
work casuals washed the no.2 scale.

7:30am- Hydro-blasting crew opened the A4 evaporator to change tubes.

7:30am to 12:00pm- Mechanics worked on the chain for the no.5 receiver. Fab shop fabricated a key for
the drive for same receiver.

8:00am to 10:00am- E/I Technicians serviced the no.2 juice scale. Hydro-blasted the B1 evaporator and
pressure tested the calandria. No leaks.

8:00am to 2:00am- Hydro-blasting crew changed 3 tubes in the A4 Evaporator.

10:30am- The west syrup clarifier was put into operation. Note that the programming for both flow and
temperature are crossed. Both clarifiers can only work when the flow from the Dean pump is dropped to
15m3/hr.

12:00pm to 1:00pm- Mechanics cleaned both tekleen filters. The north tekleen was put in operation.

Flushed both final molasses coolers and put the East one in operation.

2:00pm- Bagged a total of 90 – 1ton bags of Demerara. 3 bags were rejected due to purge and 1 bag due
to packaging conveyor. 86 bags in warehouse.

Strike 808, 809 and 810 B Demerara sent to bin for bagging. Strike 799 B from the silo for bagging as
well.

Caustic soda strength is at 5 normal. Sent for 160 bags of caustic soda for mixing tomorrow.
