Environment is one of the most important things in this world and aside from that,

it provides resources that is used by all of its inhabitants to live and to survive.
Unfortunately, it is the huge problem of all the countries in our world. It is very critical
specially for the countries who are abundant in resources like Philippines. In the
Philippines, the most influential factors that contributes environmental degradation are
increase in human population, irresponsible human activities, and continuous
industrialization and it brought many effects in the environment like land, water, and air
pollution. Nowadays, Philippines faces different environmental issues that badly affects
its citizens like lack of supply of fish and agricultural products such as rice and other
crops, and the never ending pollution in its bodies of water. Although it is an archipelago
and an agricultural country, still it imports rice and fishes just to meet the demand of its
citizens, where it really shows how serious the problem in its environment.

In addition to the effects of the environment degradation, one of the


consequences that all people faces now is the existence of different diseases that
resulted from irresponsible and improper waste segregation and increase in air
pollutants that came from factories, automobiles and etc. But now, different NGO’s and
as well as the LGU’s are making some steps and implementing laws not just to curtail
but to eradicate the causes and effects of environment degradation and improve the
environment because its effects are very alarming and it can be achieved if the citizens
has a cooperation and abides the law implemented by the government.

The objective of this paper is to inform and raise the awareness of the individuals
about environmental degradation, its causes and as well as its effects. Also to provide
information and proper understanding about the current issues that the country currently
facing wit

h regards to the environment.
