Plan

For my final project I will be producing a radio drama based on a strong

narrative structure. I know I will need to look at:

 Purpose of the radio drama

- Done via internet research and survey monkey
- What radio dramas are successful and why
 The narrative of radio dramas
 Genre of radio dramas
- Research the codes and conventions
- What does the audience expect to see?
- Choose a few examples of the genre where to analyse:
 Voices
 Speech
 Words
 Aural signposting
 Sound effects
 Music
 Silence
 Fades
- At the end I will take the useful information from the research I’ve
done and use it to improve my radio drama
 Content
- Japanese Culture
- Japanese urban legends
- Historical superstitions
 Practical tasks
- Practice making the Foley sounds e.g. echo made by their voices
and the echo of the elements around them
 Artists/ Professionals
- Looking at artists within my chosen medium
- What have they produced?
- How have they told a story?
- What are they trademark skills?
- These are going to be done via primary and secondary research.
- Why do you appreciate their work – give examples of work you
admire and what aspect do you plan on using?
 Target Audience
- By doing primary and secondary research I’ll determine what
audience is suited for my production and what their viewing habits
are.
- I’ll send a survey to establish what my target audience wants to
see, then I’ll combine these results with secondary research into
their hobbies, spending habits, etc. to build up an audience profile.
 Platforms
- I’m going to research the platform through a focus group
- I’ll talk about where I’ll air my production and why
- Film a focus group for this and upload it to my website
- Evaluate my answer
 Actors and Characters
