Total score: ____ of 60 points

(Score for Question 1: ___ of 12 points)

1. Evaluate each of the following websites and choose the three that provide the best explanation and
description of the expedition. Explain each of your choices.

(a) Go to Lewis and Clark at http://www.pbs.org/lewisandclark/

(b) Go to Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation at http://www.lewisandclark.org

(c) Go to The Lewis and Clark Journey Log at https://www.nps.gov/jeff/learn/historyculture/the-

(d) Go to Lewis and Clark The National Bicentennial Exhibition at

http://www.lewisandclarkexhibit.org/index_flash.html

The Websites A; C and B. The D website was chosen simply because it was entertaining compared to
the others. Website C was the second best, presenting convoluted information in a modern platform.
Finally, the website A was direct, obsolete but classy and easy to understand.

2. Write a two or three sentence description for each website you selected in Question 1. Be sure to
highlight its most informative features.

 Example:
 Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation
 This site keeps the Lewis and Clark Expedition alive in the modern world. At the same time, it also gives
comprehensive background about the exploration, including FAQs, a history of the expedition, and a roster
and genealogy chart of participants. It could be especially important in developing game characters.
Answer:
a) The best website, it has an old interface, however it is clear, easy to follow and understand,
informative. It provide maps, items, and a great page for characters.
b) Fails to easily provide information about Lewis and Clark. Messy interface, uninviting.
However, if you could find it, it had some useful information.
c) Modern, fast, pretty. Too convoluted to win first place, but if you are willing to really know the
intricacies of the story, it’s a good choice.
d) No longer supported, however it was the most entertaining and fast-paced.

5. What five characters should be included in the game and why? You should name and describe each
character and his or her role. You must include at least one Native American and one woman in your list.

Answer:
Meriwether Lewis – He would be the leader, work as the basic character. He would be an
obligatory character.
Meriwether Lewis – He would be more of a brawler. He could also “draw” pictures of the landscape
to increase the game minimap, and would be able to conjure Seaman, his dog, to help in missions.
He would also be obligatory.
Sacagawea – She would join later to the party (somewhere between level/mission two and four),
would be able to communicate to Native American communities, summon Toussaint Charbonneau
(maybe, I don’t like the guy and I’m insure if I include him in my game) to combat or something, and
heal and feed the party.
John Doe – He would work as a private for the party. Would could accumulate them for doing task
for Lewis and Clark, such as looking for items, taking care of the camp, fighting, off-game
exploring, etc. Would could have, at maximum, 24 and they would be named with the privates name
from the actual party.
Thomas Jefferson – He would be a NPC, working as your boss/instructor.
