It is an absolute honor to recommend Hannah Booth for an elementary teaching position. Hannah worked directly under my supervision during her placement as a student teacher, during the fall of 2019, in the first grade at Jonestown Elementary in Jonestown, PA. Whether it was leading small groups in reading and math, administering weekly tests, or engaging students in whole group instruction, Hannah was an effective and enthusiastic teacher.
Hannah was a fantastic asset to my classroom, as she showed no
hesitation to get involved with the students. It was clear to me that working with students came very naturally to her and she developed a wonderful rapport with all of them. Hannah was consistently poised, kind, respectful, and encouraging as she learned the individual needs of each student in my classroom. She organized a weekly dog therapy reading program that encouraged and helped build confidence of many students in our classroom.
Hannah was always receptive to suggestions and direction. She
reflected on her own teaching, recognizing parts of lessons that she would keep or adjust. Her lessons were well-developed and well-executed, which were a result of her hard work and natural teaching ability. Hannah’s lessons were challenging with various activities and different teaching strategies. She used a wide variety of manipulatives in her math lessons, which were engaging and fun!
Hannah was always timely, dependable and professional. She
worked extremely well with other members of our first-grade team and was always willing to step in as needed to take on additional responsibilities. Hannah is conscientious, organized, and responsible, and will be a benefit to any school system. I highly and whole-heartedly recommend Hannah for a teaching position.
