On March 13, 2020, the President of the United States declared a national state of emergency in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. This declaration makes reimbursement funds available to states with a demonstrated need for preventative measures to an amount not less than 75% of expenses. Furthermore, it is the states’ best interest to work quickly to minimize the transmission of COVID-19. The funds requested will be used to benefit the state in its resolve to restrict the spread of the disease and to purchase any needed assistance or equipment that the department determines necessary for the emergency throughout the state of Nevada.
