How can we teach values in a corrupt society?

Society today has been bombarded with corruption. It is evident in almost

every institution, especially the government. Corrupt individuals had been steeling
the country’s funds profusely as if they do not have any conscience. They use the
funds from our taxes that are supposedly meant for the benefit of the public
personally. It is only used for personal gain.

Since the inauguration of President Rodrigo Duterte, corrupt individuals had

been reprimanded and put in the hands of justice. He has been brutally strict with
the implementation of rules and regulations toward a corrupt-free society.
However, this cannot happen perfectly. What can we do to enable our society still
enrich its values and decrease the rampancy of corruption in our future
generations?

The greatest way to teach values in a corrupt society is by enriching the

smallest unit of our society. Parents must teach them good moral and Christian
values. Values come from how a child is raised. It does not depend on social status.
The government must conduct seminars to help parents exercise good parenting
that allows them to teach good values to their children.

Aside from good parenting, the government through the church, must teach
effective ways to bring the gospel to the people. After all, the Philippines is a
Christian country that can still be molded through God’s word and good moral
values.
