It is the simplest and most common of the basic textile weave. It is made by passing each filling yarns
over and under each warp yarns with each row alternating producing high no. of intersection.
Characteristics
Each warp yarn passes alternatively one and under one filling yarns
It wrinkles more.
In true satin weave there is one interlace for each warp yarn and only interlace each repeat of the
weave.
5 is the lowest possible no. of harness usable for a regular satin weave.
Simplest is a two-by-one (i.e @up and 1 down) or one by two (i.e 1 up and 2 down) which repeat on 3
end and 3 picks.
