TNHS Alay Kapwa Multi-Purpose Cooperative

The Tabaco National High School Alay Kapwa MP Cooperative had a simple beginning
in 1972, a brainchild of Ms. Leticia B. Firaza imbued with a desire to organize an association of
teachers with a common bond of interest to help teachers financially.

Its vision is to work towards the promotion and upliftment of the social and economic
well-being of members through monetary and non-monetary assistance on the spirit of
cooperativism. While its mission is to provide assistance to members, support Department of
Education and school based programs, and maintain linkages with the community.

The initial capital of Alay Kapwa Multi-Purpose Cooperative came from Ms. Gloria
Brondial, Mrs. Remedios de Jesus, Ms. Leticia Cruel, Mrs. Emman Collantes and Ms. Leticia B.

amount was offered for short-term loan with a minimal interest computed on diminishing
balance. When Ms. Gloria Brondial became the principal in 1979, she encouraged teachers to
become members and turned over a portion of the school canteen to the Alay Association

divided among the members.
