GAWAD KALINGA
Gawad – To give
Kalinga – To care
Born into circumstances, poverty. From feeding a few hundred kids to providing
a million homes.
“Poverty is not:
- about a lack of money as much as it is a loss of human dignity.
- Due to a scarcity of resources but to a painful lack of caring and sharing in
our society. “
“Disco” the man who lived in a cemetery without an address for 30 years - The
postman will not look for a dead man’s tomb, he would look for those who are
alive. They had to borrow an address to apply for work. Land is important - if one
is homeless in their own homeland, then how can you aspire for a brighter
future?
