REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS

Reflexive pronouns are used when the subject and the complement of the verb are the
same. The subject does the action to himself. In English reflexive verbs are not used as
much as in Spanish. Instead of reflexive verbs, we use one of the following reflexive
pronouns.

 Myself: I wrote a message to myself.

 Yourself: We sell a lot of these to people like yourself.
 Himself: Peter ought to be ashamed of himself.
 Itself: The cat was washing itself.
 Ourselves: The only people there were ourselves.
 yourselves : You can try it out for yourselves.
 Themselves: They seemed to be enjoying themselves.
BECAUSE VS SO
Because is a subordinating conjunction. It shows the cause. So is a coordinating conjunction. It
shows the effect.

We can combine two clauses using because and so.

Study the example given below.

Susie didn’t attend the party. She was not invited.

We can combine these two clauses in two different ways.

Susie didn’t attend the party because she was not invited.

Susie was not invited, so she did not attend the party.

SO VS NEITHER

"neither" indicates the agreement between two negative ideas. With "none", the two ideas are
separated by the preposition.

Example: As your friend will not let you into the party, neither can his people.

The word so in this case is used as a means of agreement or also to try to resemble another
person in personal opinions.

Example : She seems to be very busy and so does he for the new job.
