WHAT ARE THE NON-FUNCTIONAL
REQUIRENMENTS OF ATM CARD SYSTEM?
PERFORMANCE REQUIRENMENT
NON-FUNCTIONAL REQUIRENMENT 1:
DESCRIPTION:
Error message should be displayed at least 30 sec.
INPUT:
Insert card
PROCESSING:
The amount of cash is less than transaction or any other failure in transacting the
cash.
OUTPUT:
Display an error message and Return cash card.
NON-FUNCTIONAL REQUIRENMENT 2:
DESCRIPTION:
If there is no response from the bank computer after a request within 2 minutes the
card is rejected with an error message.
INPUT:
Insert card
PROCESSING:
The bank does not responses to the customer demand.
OUTPUT:
Error message is displayed and cash card is returned.
NON-FUNCTIONAL REQUIRENMENT 3:
DESCRIPTION:
The ATM dispenses money if and only if the withdrawal from the account is
processed and accepted by the bank
INPUT:
Authorization successfully completed. Enter the amount to withdraw.
PROCESSING:
Amount entered is compared with maximum withdrawal per transaction.
OUTPUT:
Amount of money to be dispensed is displayed .Begin initial withdrawal sequence.
NON-FUNCTIONAL REQUIRENMENT 4:
DESCRIPTION:
Each bank may be processing transactions from several ATMs at the same time.
SECURITY REQUIRENMENTS
User accessibility is censured in all ways
Users are advised to change their pin on first use
User are advised advised to not to tell their pin to anyone.
The maximum number of attempts to enter pin will be three
MAINTAINABILITY
The system components i.e. modem, memory, disk, drives shall be easily
serviceable without requiring access to the vault.
The system should have the mechanism of self-monitoring periodically in order
to detect any fault.
The system should inform the main branch automatically as soon as if it
detects any error. Any kind of fault and the problem being encountered should
also be mentioned by the system automatically.
AVAILABILITY
The product will have a backup power supply in case of power failures.
Any abnormal operations shall result in the shutting down of the system.
After abnormal shutdown of the ATM, the system shall have to be manually
restarted by a maintenance personnel.
There should be no inconsistency introduced in the account during whose
transaction the system is abnormally shut down.
