Steps for Logging Onto Online Learning Sites

1. Go to www.essentialed.com/start/waubonsee
2. Enter your username and password. Your username will be your first name and last name, capitalize the first
letter of each with no space in between. For example, Megan Jones would be MeganJones. Your password will
be your last name, capitalize the first letter. For example, Megan Jones would be Jones.
3. Choose which subject area you want to work in from the left side of the screen.
4. Complete the assigned lessons listed in the “Assignments” tab in the middle of your screen.

2. Follow the directions to join the class. Once you are registered, you will see the assigned lessons.
3. Follow the directions for the assignment. Be sure to click on the “Activities” tab on the right side of the screen. It
will include a quiz (you can read the questions before you read so you have a purpose for reading). It also will
likely include a writing assignment that you will complete and submit online.

1. Go to www.readworks.org/student
2. Enter class code MN5H37.
3. Enter the default password 1234. You will have the opportunity to change your password. If you choose to
change the password, please write it down somewhere to keep track of the new password.
**Tip: There is a button at the top of your reading that will create a “split screen” view so you have see the
article on the left side and the assignment/quiz on the right side of the screen. Then you can refer back to the
text to find the correct answers. Always go back to the text to look for evidence!!

4. Go to www.waubonsee.edu.
5. Click on mywcc in upper right corner.
6. Enter X-number and password listed above. Include the X in front of your 8-digit number. If you have never
logged into a Waubonsee computer system before, your initial password will be your six-digit birth date
(mmddyy). You will then be asked to create a new password.
7. Your Google Drive is the triangle icon in upper right corner of screen.
