Good morning principal, teachers, and fellow students,
I am truly delighted to stand here in front of everyone to deliver
my speech. First, I want to ask you a question. Are you a responsible student at school? What are your responsibilities? Responsibility means control. It's the difference between leading and being led. It means your own efforts control your behavior. You can come to class and sit there, act bored, daydream, or sleep. Or, you can actively listen, think, question, and take notes like someone practicing their learning experience. You earn the glory or deserve the blame, you make the choice. You may say you have the right to decide what to do. However, you have the right but every right comes responsibility!
In my view, I think there are many responsibilities of being a
student. First of all, a student should obey school rules as school rules are very important to keep a school in order. Without school rules, a school will be in chaos.
Second, a student has a responsibility to come to every class on
time and be prepared to listen, to participate, and to learn. Teachers are not primarily responsible for reminding you to come to class on time or making you understand. That is your job to be punctual and to learn.
Third, a responsible student should do every bit of assigned
homework with proper attention and thought. This is your primary duty to keep your study on track.
At last, a student should always be aware of what is happening in
school. You should concern about the change of your school in terms of physical environment and school policy. I hope that all of you can learn to be a responsible student. This is the end of my presentation. Thank you very much for your attention.
