GROUP PROJECT
Topic: Free Topic

Task: Create a short drama in a group of 5 or 6 students, shoot and save to a CD/DVD . Write a
group report in English.

Time: 10~15 minutes

Contents:
1) Introduction
・Tell who is going to play what role.
・Explain briefly what the sketch is about.
2) Body
3) Conclusion

Script Due: 19~24/11/2018 (10th week)


Project Due: 17~22/12/2018 (14th week)
Including the script, CD and the group report
Uploading Due: Upload the final group script to smart2.ums.edu.my 17~23/12/2018
(14th week)

Thing you must do:


1) Make a group of 5 or 6 students.
2) Discuss among group members and decide your topic.
3) Discuss who is going to play what role. At least one of the group members must
play a role as a Japanese person.
4) Create your own story and write a script (by handwriting) including the following
contents;
i. speech parts in Japanese
ii. sentence patterns from Lesson 11 until Lesson 13, used by everyone, at least once
iii. description of plot, setting, situation, etc. in English
5) Submit the script to have checked by your lecturer/teacher.
6) Practice with your group members until you memorize all.
7) Find a suitable place for your drama and shoot.
8) Edit and save the drama on a disk (CD-R or DVD-R). Be assured that it is saved
clearly both in visual and auditory aspect
9) Write a group report typed in English as follows:
i. a member list and each role
ii. anything that you gained and/or failed through carrying out this project
iii. any efforts that you should have made to improve your work
iv. any efforts to overcome some difficulty
v. any feedback, overall remarks, etc.
10) UPLOAD the final script to smart2.ums.edu.my during the week 14, 17~23/12/2018.

Upon successful completion of Lesson 11~Lesson 13, you will be able to:
1) Tell numbers and use counter suffixes with numbers (L.11)
2) Tell how often you do something (L.11)
3) Use past tense of noun and adjective sentences (L.12)
4) Describe the quality and/or state of something/someone/someplace in comparison
with others (L.12)
5) Tell your desire to possess or have something and to do something (L.13)
6) Tell your purpose for going/coming/going back to a certain place (L.13)

Notes:
1) Use sentence patterns, expressions, and vocabulary learnt only at Tahap I ~ III
2) If you cannot express your ideas at I ~ III language level, only new noun is allowed to use.
3) Deduction shall be applied to any mistake even if it is not learnt at Tahap I ~ III.
4) If you do NOT complete all the things you must do, and/or do NOT follow the notes, your
drama will NOT be evaluated.

Evaluation (15%):
1) 1st script submitted
i. Structure/organization of the drama
ii. Grammar
iii. Expression, vocabulary
iv. Creativity/Ideas
v. Hiragana and Katakana script
vi. Balance on quality and amount of speech part, and cooperation with your group
members

2) CD/DVD submitted
i. Structure/organization of the drama
ii. Grammar
iii. Expression, vocabulary
iv. Creativity/Ideas
v. Visual/Sound system
vi. Balance on quality and amount of speech part, and cooperation among group
members.

3) Group Report (Typed in English)
