Resource
• Resources are the people, supplies and equipment that enable you to complete the tasks
in the project
• MS Project have three types of resources
• Work Resource
This indicates people or equipment that consumes time when working on a task :: e.g.,
hours for a CA, Project planner, JCB etc
• Material Resource
This indicates the consumable items that are used to complete tasks in a project.
Cum. of concrete, tons of steel etc. In the context of item rate tenders, the resources are
to be considered as Material Resources
• Cost Resource
This represents the financial cost associated with a task you need - lump sum items,
deliverable like computers
Resource Sheet
The Resource Sheet shows you all of the resources that you have defined for your project and
all of the pertinent information for each resource.
Resource Information
The Resource Information dialog box contains all of the information for a selected resource.
Share Resources
When a resource pool has been shared, you can choose whether to use your own local resources
or a resource pool in the Share Resources dialog box.
Resource Calendars
If the working or nonworking times of your project’s base calendar do not coincide
with a resource’s availability, you can create a resource calendar that is specific to that particular
resource.
Resource Availability
You can use the Resource Availability table in the Resource Information dialog box to modify
the availability for a specific resource.
Assign Resources
Task Form
In the Task Form view, you can select the resources that you want to assign to the task
from the Resource Name drop-down in the Task Form table.
Resource Cost
