Child’s example of faith

A child is born of his mother and at that time he is a pure soul.

Unblemished by reason, doubt, conditioning, socialization, and deeds. A
child cries and instinctively knows that what ever is given to him to eat
comes from a loving hand and thus eats anything. A child as he grows is
fearless. A serpent on the floor would receive an embrace as would a
friendly puppy or his mother.

It is our conditioning and socialization that takes away the purity from us
that we are seeking to renew within us. The child is free from the gunas,
he is in fact away from all the things that separate us from a knowledge of
God, the supreme being. Thus he is in fact one with God, he knows God,
he was in his presence only recently. He lacks the capacity to express
himself and yet knows that his cries will bring him relief, whether food,
shelter, warmth, washing or physical comforting by the presence of a
caregiver. He is in fact the greatest example of faith we can see.

The child does care of the chemical composition of the milk he given to
drink. He merely accepts and drinks it. He does not even question the
composition of the medicine he gets because, though it is bitter, it is
given by a loving hand which has hitherto only given him good things.
His remonstrance at the bitterness is not an indictment of the deed but
rather a manifestation of the conditioning he has been receiving.

Bal Krishna and his innocent antics and miracles and manifestations are a
great and integral part of his work as an avatar on the earth. Millions who
have never read the Gita and could care less about Jnana yoga are
devotees of Bala Krishna.

Christ said “ Except ye be changed and become as little children, ye shall

in now wise see the kingdom of heaven” Matt 18:3.

We are all seeking to return to the innocence of the child the faith of the
child the innate peace that a child has that gives him fearlessness and a
love for all. A child sees only good, a child sees nothing evil in anyone.
The most debauched man has a child who at a tender age loves him,
whereas we would recoil from him knowing of his evil deeds.

We judge, a child does not.

The greatest of Law Givers in His Sermon on the Mount said

“JUDGE NOT THAT YE BE NOT JUDGED”.
Yet as human beings we are prone to judge and loath to love. This is the
basic reason we as human beings need the knowledge of God.
