Daily Lesson Log in Physical Science 1
Daily Lesson Log in Physical Science 1
I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Define stoichiometry;
2. Calculate the amounts of reactants and products in a chemical reaction;
3. Infer that the knowledge on mole ratios is important to find the amounts of reactants and
products for a chemical reaction;
II. CONTENT:
Topic: Stoichiometry
Subtopic: Mole-to-Mole relationship
Materials: chalk and chalkboard, calculators, projector, laptop
III. ACTIVITY:
Determining the mole-to-mole relationship of a chemical reaction
IV. ANALYSIS:
1. Why is mole-to-mole relationship significant to determine the amounts of reactants?
2. How is the amount of reactants and products determined from a chemical reaction?
V. ABSTRACTION:
Stoichiometry is the study of the quantitative relationships between the amounts of reactants
and the products produced in a chemical reaction.Mole ratios are ratios between the moles of any
two substances in a balanced chemical reaction.
VI. APPLICATION:
1. How many moles of water can be obtained from the reaction of 4 moles of O2?
2. How big is a mole?
VII. ASSIGNMENT/ AGREEMENT:
What is the mass (in grams) of 1.20 X 1024 molecules of glucose (C6H12O6)?
