DAILY LESSON LOG IN PHYSICAL SCIENCE

DATE: November 14, 2017

I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Explain the ideas on the atomic theory
2. Create a timeline on the discovery of subatomic particles and development of the atomic
theory;
3. Infer that the nuclear model states that the nucleus is small, dense and located at the center
of the atom;
II. CONTENT:
Topic: The atomic structure and the chemical elements
Subtopic: The atomic theory development
Materials: Big bang Illustration, Physical Sciences by James T. Shipman,
https://www.quipper.com
III. ACTIVITY:
1. Summarize the ideas on the atomic theory
2. Creating a timeline of the discovery of the structure of the atom.

IV. ANALYSIS:
1. How did the Greek philosophers believed what matter could be made of?
2. How did Aristotle believed what matter could be made of?
V. ABSTRACTION:
Democritus and Leucippus were the Greek philosophers who believed that matter could be
divided into tiny particles until such point where it can no longer be divided anymore.Aristotle
had a different view on atoms. He believed that everything in the universe is made up of the four
elements air, fire, water and earth.
VI. APPLICATION:
1. What is matter made of according to Aristotle
2. What is Quantum Mechanical Model of the atom?
VII. ASSIGNMENT/ AGREEMENT:
Describe the different discoveries of some scientist on the structure of the atom
