Who Needs Guns?

Ahhh…America, the country of freedom, place of opportunities, and the center of gun

violence. The problem not just in our community but around the nation is clearly gun violence.

America is definitely a top nation when it comes with guns and lethal weapons. It is one of the

few countries which people always have the right to carry a gun legally. Gun violence is a huge

cause of deaths in the United States with around 37, 000 kills each year, and more than coming

from injuries. There has been a collection of mass shootings, horrific suicides, and bloody

homicides over the last 40 years of American history. These tragic accidents have made the

United States look like one of the most dangerous places on Earth.

Gun violence can affect anyone at any

time. Whether you are the victim or someone

related to the victim this kind of brutal

violence is going to affect you. However, the

main target audience affected by this issue are

the victims and their friends and family.

Individuals who are affected by gun violence may encounter pressure, gloom, tension, and post-

traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The impacts of this damage stretch out to the survivors as well

as to witnesses, neighbors, and each one of the individuals who love them. These people have

lost loved ones. Mothers losing their children, friends losing their comrades, Partners losing the

love of their life, and neighbors losing…. well…their neighbors. Not only that but many lose

their lives to mindless murder from the bullets and shells dispensed by powerful firearms. Many

are lost too soon and in such an unfair manner. Many examples of these are the victims of the

Vegas shooting, the students of Stoneman Douglas High School, and the infamous death of

Florida rapper XXXTENTACION, which have all happened in the 3 years. Someone has to

come up with a solution without a question, and that is where I come in.

Obviously, the best solution is to replace all guns with buckets of rocks. I mean every

single gun (including the cops and military). Think about with no can shoot a bullet, these

problems can never happen. Society would have to deal with issues the old fashion way with

rocks. The way to implement this method is very simple. Create a

petition get many supporters to sign off on it. With this petition signed by

many bring it to a local government and be prepared for any questions

and how to improve the idea. Also, make sure to have some supporters in

case you need to testify. Then, replace every gun no matter who owns it

with buckets of rocks. This means police officers, sheriffs, military

personnel, and regular people all own one bucket of rocks for every single they usually have.

This solution will never cause issues such as school shootings, massacres, and police brutality.

However, it comes at a price. See if no one can own a gun in the community and instead must

have buckets of rock to protect, it can cause vandalism and even torture. Furthermore, with the

right protection police will have a hard time dealing with criminals and can get out numbered

and outsmarted. Yet, this will cause why more trouble for monsters to cause massacres due to the

fact that rocks can’t kill a person easily.

That’s the best solution, but if you

want the boring proposal then just makes

guns harder to get which is by having the

government raise the price on it and the

buyer needs to have a license which only

seven states require a buyer to have. If

you can make a gun cost as much as a car

then clearly purchases on a gun can go down. Moreover, for the authorities and veterans make

them carry rubber bullets when the situation is not sensitive such as simple stops. Finally, have

an anti-theft device on these weapons such as a feature that will keep the safety on until someone

turns off the safety on their phone, which sounds like the use of Bluetooth. The steps to

implement this method are the same as my satirical solution, however, it is way more

understandable and has a higher chance of getting passed. The government can also add extra

details to this proposition such as age restriction, limitations on attachments, and even create

subscription-typed contracts with the buyer. Beyond this, officials will have to carry rubber

pallets and less lead ammunition. The government would also have to install Bluetooth features

and a GPS tracker that will affect the safety on these weapons which if broken the gun cannot

fire and tracks the gun if stolen. This is not as hard as people think due to how much technology

has involved. Not only that, but there should be a person at each gun store giving the history of

the type of gun. This a reference to the PSA video created by the PreventGunViolence YouTube

channel. The video is titled “Guns with History.” The solution is just gun control with more strict

laws. This solution should decrease rates on murder, suicides, and homicides and create a safer

environment. The increase in price on firearms should make it harder for civilians to attain one.

Furthermore, the idea of having someone go back and remind you of the worst things that have

happened with a gun can make people rethink their decisions. The rubber bullets will make dire

situations much safer and relieve everyone from losing something precious to them. And overall,

just make owing a gun much safer and less likely to be used in the wrong scenario.

Listen, if you want to stop these terrible acts of murder that make us question our society

help find ways to protest and get the word out to everyone. If we don’t then these actions can and

will cause sadness throughout the world and eventually get to you. Every single gun has a

history, let’s not repeat it.
