2.1 Install Ceiling Plate and

The Harmony LC/vLED System Installation package is intended to
provide an assembled and tested lighting suspension system in a
protective crate that can be used as an installation platform.
Installation takes place after the crate is delivered to the operating
room. The cardboard shell and lid are removed from the crate base.
Either two GL-10 Genie® Lifts™1 or one SLC/SLA Genie Lift (lifting
device) is used to lift the crate components.
First, the control box (if supplied), canopy sidewall box, down tube
box and all loose miscellaneous items are removed from the crate
base. The down tube is then installed onto the spindle and then the
ceiling plate is installed onto the down tube.
Second, the crate is lifted by the Genie Lift(s) to allow the ceiling plate
to be bolted to the ceiling structure. The crate is then lowered.
NOTE: If the installation site has a finished floor, lay down two 4' x 4'
(120 x 120 cm) sheets of oil-impregnated hardboard (or a similar
material) to protect flooring surface during procedure.
1. Use a pallet truck or similar machine to position the system package
near the ceiling structure where the lighting system will be installed.
• Predetermine monitor arm stop location for desired location in
room prior to placing on 4 x 4 blocks.
• Place 4 x 4 wood blocks or equivalent under each corner to
allow for Genie Lift clearance.
Important: Allow at least 3’ (1 m) clearance around the crate to
permit lifting device access. Access to crate is necessary for
installing ceiling plate.
2. Remove canopy sidewall box, canopy, ceiling plate, down tube and
all loose miscellaneous items including hardware not affixed to crate
base.
NOTE: It may be useful to temporarily preinstall ceiling plate to ceiling
structure to preset mounting stud nuts to proper height prior to step
4. Support studs in ceiling structure can be left slightly loosened to
allow for easier positioning while lifting ceiling plate to installation
height.
 3. Remove bolts that secure the central spindle to the wooden spindle
support.

5. Install ceiling plate to down tube.
NOTE: An alternative method is to install the ceiling plate and down
tube to the ceiling mount structure before raising system (as described
in the Installation Instructons [P136824-105]).
6. Power packs and electrical box may be mounted to ceiling plate at
this time. Feed all wiring/cables up and through top of ceiling plate.
NOTE: It may be useful to lower a pull cord down through ceiling plate
to aid in this process.

2.2 Install Lighting and 1. Use a pallet jack to position the lighting system below the ceiling
Visualization System mount structure.
2. Ensure lighting system arms are strapped together to prevent
unwanted movement while raising system.
3. Position lifting device(s) to raise system.
4. Loosen brake screws to allow spindle rotation.
5. Raise system so that top of ceiling plate is just below bottom of
mounting studs.
6. Align mounting holes with mounting studs.
NOTE: Verify lock washers and flat washers are properly positioned
on top of ceiling plate prior to raising system.
7. Slowly raise system to ceiling structure being careful not to damage
wiring/cables.
8. Install remaining washers and nuts.
9. Level and tighten to secure.
10. Remove all strapping between lighting system and crate base.
11. Lower crate base.
12. Discard all packing material.
