1. The FM200 Clean Agent System shall give complete fire protection for Bilik Transformer and
Bilik TNB SwitchGear.
2. The FM200 Clean Agent System shall give complete fire protection for Bilik Electrical.

3. The design calculation and schematic diagram for each system shall be submitted for
approval.

5.0 CYLINDER

5.1 FM200 Cylinder

3
METHOD STATEMENT FOR FM200 - CLEAN AGENT SYSTEM
Doc. No. :SDJ/FF/IJPP/MOS/07 Rev. No:1
Date Issued: SYARIKAT D JOHAN SDN BHD

1. The cylinder shall be fully charged and complete with valves and shall undergo certified test
before leaving the manufacturer's works.
2. When manifolded, cylinder shall be adequately mounted and sutibale supported in a rack
provided for the purpose, including facilities for convenient individual servicing and content
weighing. Automatic means shall be provided to prevent the loss of carbon dioxide from the
manifold if the system is operated when any cylinder is removed for maintenance.Install an
air relief valve at the end of flange to ensure ni air trapped along the pipeline prior
pressurization if necessary.
3. High-pressure hoses shall be used to connect each cylinder to the manifold.
4. A reliable means of indication others than weighing shall be provided to indicate the
pressurization level of the refillable containers..

6.0 INSTALLATION OF DISCHARGE PIPING AND NOZZLES.

1. The discharges shall be high-pressure carbon steel schedule 40 and fittings shallbe
adequately distributed and terminated in discharge nozzles within the protected area..
2. The piping system shall be securely supported with due allowance for expansion and
contraction. Pipe shall be throughly cleaned, debarred and free from scale and rust before
installation.
3. After installation of the entire piping system shall be blown out with dry air before nozzles
are installed. A minimum clearance of 12 inches shall be allowed for between the system
components and the live electrical apparatus.

7.0 INSTALLATION OF FIRE DETECTION, ACTUATION AND CONTROL

7.1 Control Panel

1. The Control Panel shall consists of a control panel with the following features but no limited
to the following :
A. Ammeter, and battery test facilities
B. Mains ON, Charger ON, DC on indication light
C. Alarm reset switch
D. Buzzer silence switch and indication light
E. Bell silence switch and indication light
F. Fault indicating light
G. Fuse indication light
H. Gas actuated indication light and buzzer
I. Gas isolated switch and indicating light

J. Heat zone of isolation / normal/ fault/test fault/test lamp isolation switch

and indication alarm and isolated light.
K. . Air Conditioning and / or ventilation fan cut off relays with seperate alarm
reset switch.
L. Power supply from DB and Back up Battery 24 DC power (Sealed Acid Type)

7.2 Detectors, Actuator & Control System.

1. Automatic detector shall be any listed method or device capable of detecting and
indicating Heats Flame, Smoke, Combustible Vapours or an abnormal condition in the
hazard such as process trouble that is likely to produce fire.
a) Operating Devices
b) Dicharge valve
c) Selector valve
2. Electric control equipment. A Fire Alarm Control Panel shall supervise the actuating
devices and associated wiring and as required, cause Actuation
3. Time selections: It is used only for personal evacuator or to prepare the hazard area
for discharge

7.3 Wiring System.

All wiring shall be carried out in the conduits / trunking of:-

1. 1.5 mm2 minimum strand for smoke detectors and signalling devices such as break
glass, manual release and etc
2. 2.5 mm2 minimum strand for the alarm bell and tripping devices, actuation, flashing
lighting, fire curtains

3. End of line resistors shall be provided for supervising the continuity of each
Fire Alarm group or zone.

8.0 TESTING AND COMMISSIONING

8.1 Cylinder testing

1. Plug all the openingWater shall be drain to the nearest drain during flusing
2. Fill complete pipeline with air from an air compressor
3. Pressurize the line into an intermediate pressure, say 20 psi, wait for 5 minutes, and check
all major joints for leak with soap solution

4. If the system is OK as per item 3 again pressure the system up to 40 psi.

5. Maintain the pressure for 10 minutes and check for pressure drop if any.

1.6 Illumintae the "PRE DISCHARGE" lamp on the Control Panel facia.
1.7 Energize an alarm Horn or Horn / strobe devices
1.8 Shutdown HVAC systems and / or close dampers.
1.9 Start time-delay sequence
1.10 System Abort sequence is enabled at this point

2. After completion of the time-delay sequence, the Clean Agent system shall
discharge and the following shall occur:
3. Shutdown all power to high-voltage equipment.
4. Energize a visual indicator outside the hazard in which the discharge occured.
5. The system shall be capable of being actuated by manual discharge devices located
at each hazard exit.
6. Operation of a manual device shall be duplicate the "Verified Detection" sequence
description above except that the time delays and abort functions shall be bypassed.
The manual discharge station shall be of the electrical actuation type and shall be
supervised at the Main Control Panel.
