the undergraduate education available to them
and would prefer a more rigorous British-type
curriculum. The University College of
Islamabad aims to provide this facility by
offering a wide range of subjects taught in
UNIVERSITY COLLEGE small classes which allow individual attention.

The College has at present, capacity of 150
students and offers a range of courses which
lead to degrees from the international
programmes of the University of London.
OFFERS These courses are taken over in three years
and are taught by experienced teachers who
are qualified from the UK.
TEACHING PROGRAMME
International students enrolled with the
LLB college are required to study four courses in
each of the three academic years. Teaching
runs throughout the week, and students are
required to attend lectures, tutorials and/or
seminars. Each subject is taught for a minimum
of four hours per week.
EXAMINATIONS AND DEGREES
Session 2017-18
Examinations are administered by the British
Council in Islamabad. All scripts are marked in
the UK and the Degrees are awarded by the
University of London.

FACILITIES
The college has a library with more than 1,500
textbooks of Law. It orders every year the
latest books required to support the courses. It
is subscribed to the New Law Journal . A Local
Area Network (LAN) of twenty seven-
workstation is available for the students.
Students can have access to internet facility.
LLB (Hons.)
Law is central to society. Every community has
found a need to regulate the rights and duties
of individuals both to each other and the state.
A law degree will certainly lead to a detailed
knowledge of law and the legal system, but it is
also an opportunity to develop powers of
analysis and reasoning. The raw material of
legal studies is human activity in all its diverse
forms, which is why such a wide range of topics
is covered. Not only is this variety an important
foundation for those intending to practice law,
but it is also a great advantage to students
wishing to pursue careers in government,
commerce and industry, or in any managerial
or administrative field.
LLB students do not require any foundation
course and can complete Bar-at-Law or LLM in
one year. UCI also helps its students in seeking
admission and scholarships for higher studies
in UK, Europe, Canada and USA.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR LLB
1. A student normally should be aged 17 or

above by the 30 November in the year of
registration
AND
2. Passes in two subjects at GCE 'A' Level and
not less than Grade C in at least three
further subjects at GCSE or GCE 'O' Level
OR
Passes in three subjects at GCE 'A' Level
and not less than Grade C in at least one
further subject at GCSE or GCE 'O' Level
OR
BA, BSc Upper Second Division, American
High School with Two AP's at Grade 3, 4 or
5. The Special Admission Panel of the
University of London will consider these
qualifications on an individual basis and its
decision would be final.

3. All students will need to prove their
proficiency in English Language as
prescribed by the University of London, LLB
