Lea con atención el texto “Supply and Demand”, que se encuentra en el
objeto de aprendizaje de la Actividad de Proyecto 4, y conteste:

It refers to the desire, ability, and disposition o f consumers to buy any product.

Tastes or preferences

Consumers may demand for an item one year and ignore it the next.

Number of consumers

A large quantity of buyers carries to an increase in demand; a small quantity of


buyers carries to a decrease (Franny Chan website).

When income rises, the quantity demanded will rise too. When income falls, the
demand of that product will fall too (Franny Chan website).

Consumer expectations

Purchasers are interested in satisfying their consumption regarding quality as the


most important factor. Likewise, the lead price has an effect on the potential
increase of the consumer´s final decision.

Price of related goods

There are two kinds of related goods that can affect the demand: substitutes (for
example, butter and margarine) and complementary (toys and batteries).

a. What is Benchmarking?

is an amount o f the quality o f company’s products, policies, programs,tactics, etc.,


and their contrast with standard measurements, or similar amounts of others.

b. What is the process of Benchmarking?

1. Planning It is the plan for running the benchmarking investigation

2. Analysis After analyzing the information, it obtains a basis for comparison.

3. Integration Develop aims and incorporate them into the benchmarked process.

4. Action It refers to the action plans necessary to achieve the objetives decided in
step 3.
c. Number the aspects to be taken into account in Benchmarking:

Product, Price, Sales systems, Payment systems, Advertising, Promotion,


Location, Organization, Planimetry.

5.Write the vocabulary (20 words) from the reading, and make a Glossary:
Organize the words in alphabetic order and write the meaning of each word.

BENCHMARKING: the act of measuring the quality of something by comparing it

COMPETITION: a situation in which someone is trying to win something or be


more successful than someone else.

DEMAND: willingness or desire to buy or obtain (certain goods etc ); a need for
(certain goods etc)

DISTRIBUTION: to give something out to a lot of people or places.

EXPLOSIÓN: If a something explodes, it bursts with noise and force.

INCOME: the money that you regularly get, for example from your job.

OBJECTIVES: something that you are trying to do.

REPORT: to make a complaint about; to give information about the


misbehaviour/misbehavior etc of.

PARTNERS: the act of measuring the quality of something by comparing it with

6. Write a ten lines text that summarizes the topic of the activity.

The text is based on supply and demand, gives us a broad explanation of when
and why there is supply and at the same time taught us about demand, also taught
us about the evaluations that must be done to realize how we are facing the
competition. We were able to know the importance of the marketing mix and its
characteristics, the variables that he acts and, in turn, how he can contribute when
making a demand and an offer.

They also told us a story about one of the most famous perfumeries in Paris and
told us that they have a unique client and that they also manage lines for all kinds
of consumers.
