38. Wind turbine. Models construction and testing their characteristics

in the wind tunnel.

Purpose of our project:

Purpose of this project is to investigate which type of wind turbine is the most efficient and
produces the most power.

Idea for realization:

Our idea for this project is to investigate which type of wind turbines produce the highest
voltage and hence the most power.
We will build models in a small scale of different kind of wind turbines. All turbines we will
test in wind tunnel, they will be connected with a voltmeter so we will check the power
produced by turbine and their efficiency. We will also compare our date with characteristic of
normal size turbines. As a final conclusion of our project we will choose the most efficient
type of turbine in small scale and check our result is right also in normal scale.
In our project we will use several types of turbines, horizontal and vertical axis such as:
HAWT(two with different rotors), Darrieus wind turbine, Giromil and Savonius wind turbine.
