The Reading portion is 60 minutes long for both the IELTS
Academic and General Training exams.
For the IELTS Academic exam, there are Three long reading passages with tasks. For the IELTS Academic exam ,
texts range from descriptive and factual to the discursive
and analytical includes non-verbal material such as diagrams, graphs or illustrations. Texts are authentic (e g taken from books journals and newspapers) There are three sections on reading part of the General Training exam.
In the first section, there are two or three short texts.
In the second section, there are two short, work-related texts. In the final section, constains one longer text on a topic of general interest. the texts are authentic; taken from books, newspapers, company handbooks, etc. (for the General Training exam). The Writing section is 60 minutes for both the IELTS Academic and General Training exams. Each includes two tasks: Task 1 is a minimum 150 words and Task 2 is a minimum 250 words. For the IELTS Academic exam,
Task 1 is Writing task of at least 150 words where the
candidate must summarise, describe or explain a table, graph chart or diagram. Task 2 is a short essay task of at least 250 words. For the General Training exam,
