2. CLICK on "English Version" in the upper right corner, this will open a new screen

3. Under the Banner "Browse Historical Documents", CLICK on the region of interest. This will
open a new screen.

4. If you are new to the site and aren't sure what is available I would recommend starting with
a "full text search." Select a few key search words of interest, using one at a time. Since I
knew where my ancestors lived and the church they attended, this was my launching point.

5. My ancestors lived in the Schei district of Brasov, so that was my first attempt to see what
documents are available. It yielded the following result:

6. There were a total of 136 results, scroll down until you find something of interest. To open,
CLICK on the test just to the right of the "shopping cart"

7. This will open another screen. This new screen includes information about, and if available,
images of the document. Scrolling down the screen will allow you to view the images (and
again opening another screen). It also provides you with citation information, permission
etc.

8. CLICK on the image file, a new screen will open. You have now reached the image of the
original document. To save the image, you can either screen shot or use your computer/
table short cut to save the image.

NOTE: Not all documents have been digitized so you may only find a description of what the
document is about and nothing more.

None of the documents have been indexed, so you will have to look at each document and
image one at a time.

HINT: Patience is essential; there are times when it takes a L O N G time to load a screen/
image and there are days when access to the archives is slow or not possible. At other times,
searching, loading and viewing is quick. There is no predicting :)

HINT: When you do a full text search and find things of interest, it is helpful to write down the
reference code for all the documents. You might want to look at later-it makes finding thing
easier the next day
