4 Case Study
4.1 Paytm (Pay through Mobile)which started as a mobile wallet to simplify payments, has
expanded as online payment platform including mobile recharges, utility bill payment, wallet
payment and wallet to wallet and wallet to bank transfers for many leading internet based
companies like Bookmyshow, Makemytrip, FoodPanda, IRCTC and many others, including
contribution to PM Cares Fund.

The objective of this case study is to help students understand the digital business model
and service of Paytm and its contribution in a digitalised inclusive economy.
