Stands are made up of units called nucliatides

Nucliatides has 3 components:

5 carbon sugar

Phosphate

4 common nitrogen basis (adenine,guanine, thymine, and cysosine)

Nitrogenous base is attached to one carbon of sugar

The sugar is called deoxyrybose because it is missing a hydoxal group at 2 carbon
