Business Report : Wahana Honda

Introduction
PT Wahanaarta Ritelindo (WARI) is one of the authorized dealer for Honda motorcycles,
they sells motorcycle and provide aftersales service for the customer. WARI or better known
as Wahana Honda, started their own business on 6 August 1972, with four large Honda
motorcycle dealers that merged to become PD Union Jaya and trusted by PT Astra
International Honda Division to become the Main Dealer of Honda motorcycles in the
Jakarta and Tangerang regions and starts their first operation in Jalan Gedong Panjang.

Findings
With the growth of the business, in 1991 Wahana Honda moved to its current address on
Jalan Gunung Sahari Raya No. 32. To celebrate its 25 th anniversary in 1997, the shareholders
decided to use Wahana Artha as a group name to consolidate all of its motorcycle services
that related to our company. They invented WOM Finance, a company for motorcycle
fundings. This was done to support the sale of their motorcycle loans and in 2005, becomes
a historic year for WOM Finance, they invited Bank International Indonesia Tbk (BII) as their
partner at WOM Finance and turned WOM into a public company. In the year 1997, they
opened new branches in Kelapa Gading and Ciputat. Nowadays, with the trend of digital
system, they released a Virtual Personal Assistant called Wanda (Wahana Honda) to
accommodate customer’s needs and provide services for customers.

Discussion
From the company’s journey, we can states that they grow, because they always adapt to
the condition that’s happening in the year. In 48 years, Wahana Artha Group (WAG) much
has been achieved. Including in 2019 Wahana controlled the Honda motorcycle market by
74% in Jakarta-Tangerang region. Now that they adopt technology into their services,
showing that Wahana really commited into serving their customers.

Conclusion
Wahana Honda has experience in motorcycle business for more than 45 years, and always
provides excellent service to all its customers. Wahana Honda currently has 29 branches
spread across Jakarta, Tangerang, Medan, Palembang, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Kupang and
Kotamobagu. Currenly Wahana Honda Dealers not only sell units, spareparts and services,
but also sell Honda Accessories and Honda Apparels. In selling Honda motorcycle to its
customers, Wahana Honda competes with other dealers by offering excellent service.
Recommendation
From my own opinion, I think Wahana Honda already making step to the right direction,
they adapt themselves into the current condition and it’s proven to be successful. If they
keep implementing this strategy, I believe they could become one of dominant player in
Indonesia’s market.
